A couple of years ago, I updated an old, territory-based Warhammer campaign I'd seen in White Dwarf for the new edition of Warhammer.
I tried running it last year at my previous gaming club, but this was about the same time as the Eye of Terror campaign, and it pretty much fell flat.
I've been going to LXG from day 1, and I'm actually suprised how dedicated the Warhammer players are here, so I'm thinking about attempting to start the campaign up again.
My previous attempt was done via face-to-face meetings, and was not very sucessful. However, this forum provides a new way of notification, and so this campaign just might actually work.
If you guys are interested in having me run a campaign for you, please leave a reply.
Thanks, Greg
PS. I'm also interested in getting smaller warband-based campaigns such as Mordeheim: Empire in Flames Path to Glory (a Chaos warband game), and prehaps even Blood Bowl and Necromunda started. Any takers here?
I'd be interested too and i seem to recall hearing a few murmurings about a campaign at the last meeting so no doubt there will be more punters.
The group where the nucleus of the LoEG came from (Nerds Rest) also had a campaign running for a good 6 months last year. Its map seemed to be only a token representation so a new proper map based campaign would be welcome.
Unfortunately I wasn't at the club meeting this month due to a wedding I scheduled on the same day.
I understand a newguy was going to turn up who wanted to run a WHF League. Do you know if he was there?
Regardless, it looks like there are definite rumblings about a need for campaign - how about we organise a meeting sometime during the Aircon weekend with a view to getting something up and running for September.
Regards,
Keith

If not a campaign (which very rarely comes to fruition) then at least perhaps a league style system similar to the old Warhost League which ran a while ago (started at warhounds and continued at Tanelorn)

good stuff seems we might be able to get this campaign going...My Vampire lord Vulf von drak is looking forward to some conquest...Seems he might find an ally in his brother von carstein Count Sukemdry ;D
I've got a very clever fellow in David Kay writing a campaigns/scenarios for a campaign type league! Using the General compendium.
Aiming for a campaign that's interesting, fun to play and having a series of linked End Events to keep the player's interest.
I plan to have a booklet like the old “Warhost League” that can be used to record games in the campaign + Scenarios which run for 3 meets at a time and have an overall winner of that scenario.
The real trick is to keep the games even during the campaign as from previous campaigns I have noticed that players with bad win records and small armies do not enjoy the games with players with huge armies due to big wins.
Everything is only on the sketch board right now and any feedback would be appreciated.
Cheers
Ado

Count Sukemdry is very thirsty!
Bring on the campaign!
The old Warhost rules run by Ado were fair. What we need is some clever way to run a league based around a campaign.

Yes, very busy on this is what we are.
There will be something to bring to players for the September meet.
It's just a case of getting the balance right between:
-wierd and wonderful scenarios -armies with a history, and like wise characters -armies with grudges against one another -still being accessible to new players, and not have people who lose their first three games dropping out because they can't catch up -allowing for people who just want a record of their games played (I'm thinking of you Shags even if no one else is!) -allowing for players to build a new army and have it grow throughout the campaign -making the campaign meaningful with links between scenarios played
Worry not we'll come up with something we think will suit everyone- and then you can all complain!

for the coming up with ways to show your general becoming more skillful and such you could use some of the GW campaign hero skill charts such as those in a recent white dwarf (cant remeber which one) or the ones in that the huge book GW made called the "generals " something or other i cant remeber its name at the moment either
We could get quite abit of assitense from GW published stuff but we also face the problem of making something everyone likes as Cleverfellow said.
