Now that the league is getting underway, here are the rules and guidlines for everyone to view. As the season progresses I may make changes or additions.
The league is played according to the current edition of the Blood Bowl rules (version 5) available here: www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/rulebook.asp
LXG BBL uses the following optional and extra rules:
Starting your team:
Legal teams are those listed at the back of the current Blood Bowl rulebook. No other teams are legal.
All starting teams must have a minimum of 11 players on the roster.
Free Fan Factor: All teams start with Fan Factor 5, which does not have to be paid for.
Your team must be named, by the end of the first match played. Teams may not start a second match without a name.
Your players must be named by the end of your second match. Teams may not start a third match without all their players being named.
Playing matches:
A team reduced below 11 able players may use free journeymen as detailed on page 29 of the rulebook. Journeymen do count towards your team's value for a match.
There are two types of matches to be played; fixtures, and open.
Legend Bowl 1 has 7 teams, so there are 6 fixtures plus two open matches.
The maximum number of matches that a team can play in the current league season (season 1) is 8. Once a team reaches 8 played game it can play no more, with the exception of finals.
The 8 matches are comprised of playing each other team in the league once - these are your fixtures. You may then play 'open' matches against any opponent of your choice.
You should not play the same team twice in a row. To qualify for the finals a team must play all its fixtures.
All league matches must be played at a LXG club meeting. At each meeting, the league commissioner will bring up to date team sheets for all teams in the league.
A word on illegal procedures: don't be a dill. It is the responsibility of both players to keep the match moving. If your opponent forgets to move their turn counter, or make their Bone Head roll, or whatever, remind them - nicely.
After the match:
MVP Awarding: The MVP award goes to a player on your team roster who played in the match. MVP cannot be awarded to a Mercenary, Star Player, or Journeyman. Exclude these players from consideration when rolling for MVP.
New Players: Any new players bought for the team must be named when they are added to the team roster.
After each league meeting, players are to hand in their team sheets, with all updates noted to the league commissioner. The commissioner will then update all the team sheets, and post game results and league standings on the LXG message board.
Team sheets are available from the League Commissioner by request. We are (still) working on having all teamsheets online.
