The score was low, but the casualties were piled high in this match. The Slaughterers lived up to their name, and used their 410,000 in inducements to take two star players, beefing up their front line with a minotaur and a chainsaw.
Beaten Brass 2 - 1 Unvincible Undead
Beaten Brass lived up to their name, taking a battering from the Undead. While the score was in their favour, the casualty score was not! The apothecary managed to save a chaos dwarf from death. The sole casualty inflicted by the chaos dwarfs left a zombie missing the next game.
I'm guessing this thread is ok for players to post games they played.
Had a good orc v orc with Eddie today. His team was quite advanced and with 10k from my treasury I could afford Morg N Thorg. Game had a hilarious start.
Eddie tries to pick up the ball and gets a double 1, turnover. Morg then does the first action of a block and gets double skull. On his next turn his lineman decides to foul morg vs a negative assist and gets a double 6, then 6,5 then gets a smashed ankle. Atleast that lineman got sent off by the ref.
I wasn't feeling too good losing my only real good player so early, but things generally went in my favour from here and I salvaged a 2-1 win. Nearly came out injury free, but right near the end my Black Orc Blocker lost an AV, and after my 2nd team I could afford a fresh one so I retired this dudd.
Next I played Aris in some town half way to Alice Springs (Ipswich). Could only afford 1 star vs his team, a little goblin with bombardier. We had lots of fun throwing the bomb around, everyone kept catching it, so took a while to go off each time. Most bombs didn't do much, but I had one work nicely before the ref sent him off.
I did some reasonable damage in the first half before I scored a TD. He did better on his knockout rolls than Eddie did though, so had to take them down again. He ran his Ogre up the middle in the 2nd half, and I ran away like a girl not thinking he would be given the ball. Sure enough the Ogre receives a pass, and with a successful dodge next turn scores to make it 1-1. I didn't suffer any damage so had a good numbers advantage to score in the very last drive making it 2-1.
Star players are fun. I don't think I'll be buying an apothecary until I have a player with 2 skills or a stat increase.
A big thanks to Eddie and Aris who donated me enough players to make up my Orc team.
Eddie thought he would have some fun telling me I had 6 points for my blitzer. I roll a double and take dodge. Later he tells me he only has 5 points.
Most enjoyable, definitely beats playing on the internet.
