The season to be jolly is about to hit us and we will be doing a few joyous gaming things at the December meeting.
Firstly, please endeavour to bring a plate of something for a Christmas Lunch. If you are culinary challenged bring a pkt chips or bag of lollies.
There will be a few special tournaments with goodies to win, as follows:
Memoir 44 Xmas Special
This is a tournament for 6 players only (2 spots have already been taken). It will start at 9.30am sharp and should conclude by 12.30pm. The scenarios featured will be the Ardennes campaign (Battle of the Bulge) that occurred around Xmas 1944.
Please contact me on 33988745 or email me if you want to reserve a place.
Magic: the Gathering (Ho-ho-ho)
David Kay will host a one vs one draw format competition, with the overiding proviso being decks must be red and green (only) or all-white (only). Banned/limited cards will be posted in the Magic section of the forum - keep checking.
This tournament will start around 9.30am and will finish around 1pm to allow for the final of the 2008 Grand Melee League.
Kids Christmas Carnival
Strictly limited to ages 6-10. Kids will play in four games during the day and their position in each game will provide them with points at the end of the day. The games that will be featured at present will be:
"Dawn Under"
"Sorry"
"Pictureka"
"Hey That's My Fish"
Awards
There will be a number of awards in the afternoon, including competitions played on the day, prizes from Legends of Winter, and awards recognising special contributions to the club by its members.
Of course there will be al, the other games we always enjoy playing, so there will be plenty to do. Rock along to Cavendish Road High School Assembly Hall on the 21st of December to celebrate the hobby of gaming in style - whether you are a club member or just dropping in for a visit.
Regards,
Keith
