FYI this was sent to me.
Dear All,
I'd like to make you all aware that I'm starting up a group called the Squad Leader Association of Brisbane.
If you're on this mailing list it means either:
1. You've already played Squad Leader (SL) or Advanced Squad Leader (ASL) with me,
2. Expressed an interest in doing so,
3. or , I've met you through a gaming group and thought you were a good enough bloke to invite along anyway!
This is my first step in announcing the group's existence, and I will be promoting the group by various means in coming months. Yes, I know that SL / ASL is not for everyone. Detailed World War 2 Tactical Combat boardgame fans are not born every day! However, I've now located a few, and feel it's about time we had a focal point for SL / ASL in Brisbane to complement those which have long been in existence in Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast.
I'm planning to run regularly scheduled casual gaming meets (probably 2 per month), initially at my home in Tingalpa. For February these meets will be Friday 12th and 19th, gaming from 7pm. The schedule for future months will be subject to discussion with those wishing to attend, but my first option is the 1st and 3rd Friday night of each month, with additional meets always possible by arrangement. All meets will cater for both beginners and more advanced gamers. All game components will be provided for beginners. I plan to run a small, relatively casual tournament in a few months time if there is sufficient interest. My goal is to get 8 players for this! We'll see how we go!
Those of you who host existing gaming groups, please feel free to spread the word. I'll be distributing some promotional fliers with very pretty pictures shortly! Your support would be much appreciated.
Any questions, I'm happy to chat by phone or email.
For Friday Feb 12, please advise if attending, or just turn up.
Best Regards,
Mike Gannaway

P.S. Anyone not wishing to receive future advice on SLAB events just say so :-)
