LXG wins grant for tables and cabinets

Hi Everyone

LXG has just been awarded a grant from the Brisbane City Council for $6,000 for the purchase of 2x storage cabinets for the club library and 20 folding leg tables.

This means we can finally accomodate all games in the library and go for a further grant to extend our collection.

We should take delivery of the cabinets and equipment prior to the August meeting. Hope to see you across a game board at a new shiny table soon!

Thanks David - it took a lot of wheeling and dealing. The original grant was sent back in November last year but we were rejected because we didn't fit into the right slot for the programs that were available.

Iwrote to the Lord Mayor in February 2010 and was sent an applicaton form for Discretionary Grants. These are issued from the coffers at the end of the financial year and the letter advising us we were successful arrived today.

Now we need a few more games to top up the free cupboard space!
