Well, The BIG weekend 2004 is over.
I managed to play in 5 roleplaying sessions, a LOTR miniatures demo, a heroclix demo, killer bunnies, eat too much and sleep too little.
My first 2 sessions were Living Greyhawk "Brother Mine". It took a while to get going but it ran smoothly and the referree is to be commended for running 8 first level players through the adventure.
I played "Riddle of the Sphynx" run by Dave Swanson (D20 rules in a stargate setting). Dave is a great DM. Not only did he do a great egyptian accent and have egyptian music playing in the background but he also wore a fez!! What more could you ask for?
Kevin Powe ran "The Black Ranger" (Feng Shui rules in a Deadlands setting). Once again, very well referreed with an intriguing story line. I only wish I was able to do an American accent properly.
The funniest RPG I played was Adam Windsors "Starship Zero". It was only after the game that I found out that the game had veered so wildly from what he had designed that he had winged most of it!!
I played in the LOTR miniatures demo run by David Pilkington and enjoyed the game. Its something I will probably get into once time and funds permit.
I also played the Heroclix demo and enjoyed that more than I thought I would. You can have quite a good game with a small number of figures.
The "find" of the convention was the card game "Killer Bunnies" where different sorts of bunnies kill each other and try to collect carrots to win the game.
Finally, I was privileged to watch Dave Morton use his Foot of Gork to stomp on 9 of his opponents units.
I look forward to TBW 2005
