I heard this morning that Britney Spears did a promotional 'concert' of a set of five songs as part of a comeback strategy. Now, I am not a Britney fan by any standard, but my immediate reaction was - 'Well, good for you for giving it a go"
I then learned that she lip-syched the whole thing and lost any kind of respect I could muster for her. What's more, the spin her minders put on the lip-synching was to say, "Hey, she dances and just looks goood. If she sung live it wouldn't sound exactly like the records and the kids don't want that".
Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong? I have always had a big interest in contemporary music and enjoyed seeing live performances because to me:
(1) The artist demonstrates their talent and not the talent of the machine behind them (2) The very fact that the music is different that the studio version
If I wanted to go and see a good looking person gyrate and dance to music that they were not performing, I can go down the valley and watch strippers on stage. Then again....perhaps that's what Britney has always been all these years.
I'm Grumpy Old Keith (in an Alan Jones voice).

(Serious shift of topic - but hey, this is a waffle)
That's not Credence Lyrebird, that's Stephen King...or is that Peter Straub? Nahh....pure Stephen King....Bad Moon Rising was also quoted as a chapter intro in the "Shining", so he must be the Credence fan.
Also....the Dark Tower is now a comic book series.
Regards,
Keith
