REPRINTED FROM GEN CON AUSTRALIA NEWSLETTER:
REGISTRATION NOW LIVE!
The first of our announcements is simply that REGISTRATION for the Gen Con™ Australia show is live and that all our events are now uploaded and scheduled. While you have may have had a chance to browse a partial event catalogue up to this point, there are now over 500 different events across the four days including seminars, movie screenings, tournaments and workshops. You can register at registration.genconoz.com.
We also have some very important news like our new website (and of course our new look E-News), sponsors, and a number of keys events which will be discussed later.
In the mean time, here's the information that is the most popular question coming out of our inboxes.
REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
It has been a bigger task than anyone predicted, but all related events for the Gen Con™ Australia show have now been listed and event tickets are available for purchase at registration.genconoz.com.
"Australian Gamers have never experienced an event of this size before, and we are making sure that their first impressions are mind blowing and memorable", said the Director of Eventions Creative Event Management Pty Ltd, Ian Houlihan. Mr Houlihan continued by saying that, "We have built this convention based on the US model for Gen Con™, and we want to leave no doubt in attendees minds, that we are here to stay".
Gen Con™ Australia will be the largest gaming convention ever held in Australia, with over 500 separate events on offer. The convention is set to cater for every gamer's needs and more.
A full listing of events is currently available through the Gen Con™ Australia Registration System. An Event Search Page has been provided to allow users to search the event catalogue based on the event type and day.
The registration system being used is the system used by Gen Con™ Indy, and has been put through its paces for quite a number of years.
"The system is robust enough to be able to deal with high levels of traffic, is a fantastic scheduling system, a useful day planner, a sophisticated staff management tool, a POS system and can handle Event Management better than any system that I have ever seen", claimed Mr Houlihan. "The system is used at Gen Con™ Indy and has been a powerful weapon in their arsenal. We were blessed to be able to use their system because it gives us everything we could ever dream of".
HOW TO REGISTER
Registering in the system is a simple three step process.
STEP 1: Create a USERID# using the registration system at registration.genconoz.com. If you are just wanting to hear about general information about the show, you need go no further. Your details will be added to the E-News Mailing List.
STEP 2: Purchase your Badge (entry into the show - call it your Show Pass) and Ticketed Events(these are your entry to any of the listed events). You can purchase your Badge as one transaction, and then return later for your Event Tickets, however both transactions can occur at once. You can even save your elections in your shopping cart, and return later for further browsing.
A suggestion is to work out which events you want ahead of time using the Event Search Page. After that, its a simple case of plugging those events in as you register - and saves on your transaction fees to boot. You can also purchase Generic Event Tickets, which will let you pick-and-choose events as they catch you're attention at the convention.
You will need to ensure you have added a mailing address.
STEP 3: Purchase your selected Badges and Tickets at the Checkout. You can use only VISA or MASTERCARD at this time. Those without credit cards can download our Gen Con™ Australia Registration Form that will allow you to make your payment using credit card, money order or direct deposit just by filling in what events you wish to register for, what type of Badge you are after and sending it through to us.
Its really as simple as that.
Please note that some multi-round events do require attendees to register for all rounds, even though there may be no cost associated with them. You may have to register for the opening round of a multi-round event before you can register for subsequent rounds.
MERCHANDISE
By the end of next week, Gen Con™ Australia merchandise will also be available. Currently, this will include Backpacks, Collector Pins, Dice, Dice Bags, Hats, Mugs, Plush Toys (Kangaroo & Koala) and T-Shirts. Prices will also be announced in our next E-News mail-out.
