The extra special xmas MTG duel series is here!
At the December meeting, bring along a mono-white or green/red deck for some duelling fun. (deck construction rules below)
Rather than our usual multiplayer format, this is a chance to test your skills one-on-one in a best of three games wins the match format.
Matches can be played at any time throughout the meeting, and the winner will be announced after the Grand Melee final. Just find someone else who has a spare 20 mitues or so and play! I'll also be giving out prizes throughout the day to match winners, thanks to the generosity of Ian Royle we have plenty of prizes to hand out.
I will make and bring a small number of extra decks for anyone who forgets theirs and still wants to play, or for anyone who hasn't played before or doesn't ahve the right kind of deck.
Deck Construction:
minimum 60 cards, no more than 4 of any non basic land.
Mono White: All non-land cards in the deck must be white and white only. Multicoloured and hybrid cards (even if partly white) are not allowed. Purely colourless cards are also not allowed. White only!
Green/Red: non land cards must all be mono-green, mono-red, or green and red - either gold or hybrid.
Colourless cards are not allowed, neither are gold or hybird cards that have colours other than green or red in their mana cost. Eg a gold card with red, black and green in the mana cost is not allowed, neither is a hybrid card with red and white in the mana cost.
Each red/green deck must have cards that are green, and cards that are red. A deck of enitrely red/green gold or hybrid cards is fine. Mono-red and Mono-green decks are not fine, so add that second colour!
The grand Melee final and prizegiving will go ahead separately.
