Just wanted to post and say that once again I had a great time at this year's winter retreat. Good to see so many faces familiar and new...
Next year Eddie and I really have to liaise over which games we are taking so we don't end up with multiple copies of Dust and no copies of Warrior Knights!
Heads of State seemed to prove quite popular (I played two games of it, and apparently it was used several times by others over the weekend.
I finally got to play Pandemic (twice) but neither time managed to actually get the rules right - my incompetence was vindicated by finding out that at least 3 other games of it were played using variously wrong versions of the rules over the weekend!
Twilight Imperium on Saturday was awesome and epic - count me in for future sessions! In fact, I am seriously considering organising another game of it before next WR, so David and I can justify the investment we made in purchasing it in the first place! Next time we play Sean and I won't sit either side of Keith so someone else can be blamed for cornering him and nearly wiping out his entire race (thus generating a series of tit-for-tat vengeance maneuvers!)
Through the Desert proved popular too, which pleased me since it is one of my favorites too - watching everyones reactions to a game featuring piles of pastel coloured camels was amusing!
Thanks to Nigel for running the games (or "pastimes" if you are Terry...) of "Do you worship Cthulhu?" on Saturday evening - I was too tired to engage in child-scaring moderation and he came to the rescue admirably and allowed me to play for once!
All in all, a fun weekend - thanks to all who helped make it so.
